Huckabee In Little Rock Saturday For Two Events
Former Gov. Mike Huckabee will be back in the state from his Florida beachfront tax haven on Saturday to rally Arkansas Republicans and raise some money for his political action committee.
The main event, called “In The Red Zone with Gov. Mike Huckabee,” will be Saturday evening at 5:00 pm in the Little Rock River Market Pavilion. In addition to Huckabee, the event will feature a chili supper, live music, and lots of Republican candidates. The Arkansas Razorbacks play Ole Miss in Little Rock the same day at 11:30 am so the event works out nice for some reverse tailgating.
Huckabee hosted a similar event in Little Rock shortly before the 2010 election. I attended that one and, despite not being a Huckafan, I will tell you that it was a pretty nice event. I also hear that Huckabee will not be sticking the party with a hefty travel tab like he did in 2010 when he charged Arkansas Republicans nearly $20,000 for chartered air travel. So that’s a good thing.
Tickets are $25 a person or $50 for a family of four and can be purchased here.
Later that evening, Huckabee will be hosting a private high-dollar affair to raise money for his political action committee – HuckPAC. Tickets to this event are $1,000 to $5,000. This private event will be at the home of Lisenne Rockefeller.
HuckPAC has endorsed 23 candidates in Arkansas this year. According to the latest FEC report through September, HuckPAC donated $1,000 to Congressman Rick Crawford and also donated amounts ranging from $250 to $500 to 13 state legislative candidates.
