Arkansas Young Democrats Chair Heading Up Planned Parenthood Voters of Arkansas
It is becoming increasing clear that the Democratic Party of Arkansas is the pro-choice party not only nationally, but right here in Arkansas.
A new group calling itself the Planned Parenthood Voters of Arkansas has just formed and it is headed up by the chair of the Young Democrats of Arkansas, Jessica DeLoach Sabin — linked here discussing her enthusiasm to have been a part of nominating President Obama for re-election. DeLoach is pictured below with her new husband, Democratic Rep.-elect Warwick Sabin.
“The mission of PPVA is to foster and preserve a social and political climate favorable to reproductive health and to protect reproductive choice. To meet this mission, PPVA engages in lobbying, issues education and pro-choice voter identification, education and mobilization,” states the new group’s website.
Of course, this is nothing new for a party whose platform calls for taxpayer-funded abortions. Don’t believe me? Here it is from the Democratic Party Platform…
The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.
Democrats support access to affordable family planning services, and President Obama and Democrats will continue to stand up to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood health centers.
It looks like the Young Democrats of Arkansas agree. The new PPVA group also includes former executive director of the Democratic Party of Arkansas Glenn Hooks who is serving as vice chair and Brent Bumpers, son of former Sen. Dale Bumpers.
