Ritter Communications To Acquire Tennessee Telephone, Cable Companies

Ritter Communications, a provider of telecommunications services and broadband technologies to businesses and residential customers in northeast and north central Arkansas, has entered into definitive agreements to acquire west Tennessee-based Millington Telephone Company, Inc. and Millington CATV, Inc.

“This venture has strategic significance for Ritter’s long-term growth goals,” said Ritter Chairman and CEO Dan Hatzenbuehler. “It increases our customer base, strengthens existing relationships and improves our competitiveness and service offerings.”

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisitions are subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions to closing.

Ritter currently serves 25,000 residential and business customers in more than 45 communities in Arkansas with high-speed Internet, phone services and cable TV. The Millington acquisition represents approximately 20,000 business and residential customers in parts of Shelby, Tipton, Haywood and Fayette counties in Tennessee.

Ritter Communications, founded in Marked Tree and headquartered in Jonesboro, began providing phone service in northeast Arkansas in 1906.
