KNWA Moving to The Dickson This Fall

Local NBC affiliate KNWA-TV is moving up in the world — literally.

The station, we hear, has entered into a 10-year lease agreement with The Dickson and owner Ted Belden to occupy the entire third floor of the nine-story building at 609 W. Dickson St.

The space, about 12,000 SF, is being finished out right now with an anticipated move-in date of October. The dollar amount is unclear, but space was being marketed last spring for $12 per SF.

KNWA’s current headquarters are in the Campbell-Bell building on Fayetteville’s downtown square. It also has a studio in the Pinnacle Hills area of Rogers, and a bureau in Fort Smith.

“We feel this will give us the premier locations for bringing stories to our viewers faster than our competitors,” a source at the station told Whispers.

Randy Werner and Sheree Alt with Downtown Properties Real Estate Group Inc. were key participants in the deal, landing The Dickson its largest tenant to date.

We also hear that as part of the move, KNWA will begin broadcasting its newscasts in high definition.
