Hubbard Opts for Independent Thinking

As mentioned in Donny Hubbard’s Forty Under 40 profile in this issue, he’s about to have a new employer.
Hubbard, long associated with Baumans Northwest Arkansas, is opening, along with another investor, The Independent, on Sept. 1. The store will be in the same space BNA occupies at The Shoppes at Pinnacle Hills in Rogers.
As for the upscale men’s clothing currently sold at BNA?
“Not much will change there,” Hubbard said, adding some product lines will be expanded.
Hubbard said there are no hard feelings involved in the split, and The Independent also will have a presence in Little Rock, starting Sept. 1. The store will be on Kavanaugh Road and employ former Baumans associates Sean Cullers, Flynn Smith and Jon Stone. Hubbard hopes to open a store in Fayetteville this fall.
