Brown-Hiller-Clark Buys Fort Smith Insurance Agency

One of the state’s largest insurance agencies, Brown-Hiller-Clark & Associates of Fort Smith has acquired another insurance agency in town, Group Insurance Consultants of Fort Smith Inc.

Marty Clark, president of BHC, announced the acquisition Wednesday.

Brown-Hiller-Clark, a subsidiary of First Bank Corp of Fort Smith, was ranked No. 4 on Arkansas Business’ most recent list of the state’s largest insurance agencies with almost $69 million worth of premium written in 2010.

Clark said the acquisition would add about 10 percent to annual premium and will capture some business in central Arkansas. 

“We believe that the addition of Rob and his team to BHC will strategically complement our current employee benefits operation, and offer even more professional services to our existing commercial business customers,” Clark said in announcing the acquisition.
