Walton College Professors Named to Leadership Posts
Eli Jones, dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, said Tuesday he’s selected three professors to leadership positions within the college on an interim basis.
Anne O’Leary-Kelly, a professor in the management department, will be interim associate dean.
Vikas Anand, an associate professor in the management department, will be the interim faculty M.B.A. director.
Molly Rapert, an associate professor in the marketing department, will be the interim honors college program director for the Walton College.
“It is important to note that the interim title is strictly for us to test the chemistry, so to speak,” Jones said in a news release. “We’ll learn how well we work together as a team.”
Jones said O’Leary-Kelly essentially will function as the college’s chief operating officer.
Anand said in the release that his role will entail ensuring that new programs in Panama and India are rolled out effectively. He will also work with faculty, employers, alumni and others to review and continue strengthening the M.B.A. curriculum.
Rapert said several new initiatives in the honors program are already under way, mainly through the efforts of Jason Adams, assistant director of the Walton College’s honors program, and the Honors Student Executive Board.
Jones started as dean of the college on July 1.
