Kiger named to Oklahoma Chamber ambassador group
Lundy Kiger, director of government relations for AES Shady Point in Poteau, has been named a member of the Oklahoma Chamber Business Ambassador Program.
The State Chamber’s Business Ambassador Program has been formed to recruit business leaders to serve as a personal link between the State Chamber and their local Communities and industries. Business Ambassadors will work closely with the State Chamber staff to help bolster the organization’s statewide voice on behalf of the Oklahoma business community at the state and federal capitols.
“I am honored to have been asked to serve in this roll and be able to represent my community and southeast Oklahoma,” Kiger said in a statement. “I look forward to working with the other ambassadors and the State Chamber throughout the next year.”
Business Ambassadors were identified as leaders in their community or industry and will work with the State Chamber’s government affairs staff to lobby lawmakers on issues important to them.
“Lundy has demonstrated great leadership in Poteau and the region and he will be a great addition to the business ambassador team,” said State Chamber President Fred Morgan. “This is an exciting new effort at the Capitol. I’m confident having Lundy, and his knowledge of southeastern Oklahoma, is an asset to our members.”
Kiger began with AES Shady Point in 1992. He also owns and operates Kiger Properties and Investments, LLC and co-owns Oklahoma Welcome with his wife Samantha.
Kiger is a member of the Poteau Chamber of Commerce, LeFlore County Coalition for Healthy Living, LeFlore County Boys and Girls Club, Fort Smith Regional Alliance, Oklahoma State Chamber, Environmental Federation of Oklahoma, Fort Smith Housing Authority Advisory Board, 188th Air National Guard Community Council, Oklahoma Academy, and former member of the Board of Directors of Arvest Bank.
