Hopper Happenings in Rogers
One of our Rogers operatives has alerted us to some commercial development doings just off Walnut Street near the Scottsdale Center.
First Security Bank has entered into a construction mortgage agreement with Rogers developer Tom Hopper for $12.49 million, paving the way for construction of a 60,000-SF shopping center.
The location of the project is behind the Bob Evans restaurant and Liberty Bank of Arkansas on a 20-acre site near West Walnut and North 40th streets.
Hopper, chairman of the board at Rogers engineering firm Crafton Tull, owns the land through his BCS Hopper LLC entity. He told Whispers early construction work for the single-story building is already under way and should be complete by January.
Nabholz Construction Services is overseeing the project.
Tenants for the buildings have already been secured — Marshalls, Home Goods and Shoe Carnival all are on board for the new retail center.
