Hatch Named Associate A.D. for Business

University of Arkansas vice chancellor and director of athletics Jeff Long announced the hiring of Byron Hatch as associate athletic director for business on Monday.

Hatch joins Arkansas’ athletic department after a seven-year stint with the NCAA. He served in a variety of roles while with the NCAA, most recently as its director of championships and alliances.

“As a native Arkansan, Byron brings a lifelong passion for the Razorbacks as well as extensive national experience within intercollegiate athletics,” Long said in a prepared statement. “He will be a great addition to our team and his expertise will help us continue to shape an athletics program to meet the growing needs of our more than 460 student-athletes.”

Hatch, a native of Humphrey, will report to senior associate athletic director and chief financial officer Clayton Hamilton. Before joining the NCAA, Hatch spent three years as a senior multistate tax consultant at Deloitte & Touché LLP in Houston. He also worked as a state and local tax consulting associate at Arthur Anderson LLP, also in Houston.

Hatch has an accounting degree from the University of Central Arkansas and a law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. While at UALR, Hatch he in the offices of the Arkansas Public Defender Commission and the Pulaski County Public Defender in Little Rock.

Hatch and his wife Marla, have two daughters, McKinley and Brooklyn.
