Ex-UA Coach Sells Home, Absorbs $550,000 Loss
Former Arkansas Razorbacks football coach Bobby Petrino sold his Fayetteville mansion for $1.7 million, according to a warranty deed filed June 18 in the Washington County Circuit Clerk’s office.
Gary and Janet Anderson of West Fork bought the property on Bridgewater Lane in the east Fayetteville subdivision of Bridgewater Estates.
Petrino and his wife, Becky, bought the 8,741-SF home and 2.88 acres from Justin and Susan Salter in March 2008 for $2.25 million.
Salter paid $205,000 for the land and built the home in 2006. The property appraised in 2010 for $1.63 million.
Petrino put the home up for sale more than two years ago, trying to downsize. It was recently being offered for a reduced price of $1.99 million.
In May, Petrino also unloaded his home on Beaver Lake in Benton County. Duncan Mac Naughton, chief merchandising officer for Wal-Mart U.S., and his wife, Cynthia, paid $600,000 for the 2,532-SF home and 2.91 acres on Cedar Forest Drive in Garfield.
That was the same amount Petrino paid for the property in June 2008.
Petrino coached the UA football team for four seasons, but lost his job April 10 when revelations came to light that he had an inappropriate relationship with a 25-year-old female member of the football support staff.
Petrino was earning an average salary of $3.5 million per year when he was fired. He was under contract through 2017.
The Montana native remains without a job, and hasn’t commented publicly since his departure from the UA.
