Arkansas Municipal League Selects New Officers

The Arkansas Municipal League has elected a new slate of officers for the 2012-2013 year.

Camden Mayor Chris Claybaker was elected president. Pea Ridge Mayor Jackie Crabtree was elected first vice president.

Other officers elected for 2012-2013 include Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin, District 1 Vice President; Maumelle Mayor Mike Watson, District 2 Vice President; Springdale Mayor Doug Sprouse, District 3 Vice President; and Stephens Mayor Harry Brown, District 4 Vice President.

als from across Arkansas attended the 78th Convention, June 20-22 in Hot Springs, where they discussed the League’s agenda for the upcoming year.

The League at its annual business meeting voted to support Proposed Constitutional Amendments 1 and 2, which will appear on the November ballot.

The League renewed its support for the initiative to raise the state’s severance tax on natural gas.

The Arkansas Municipal League is a service and advocacy organization representing more than 500 municipalities in Arkansas.
