Summit Medical opens new treatment centers
Summit Medical Center has opened a Wound Healing Center and a Sleep Study Center in Van Buren.
The wound center, under the direction of Dr. David Busby, focuses on the healing process of complex or hard to heal wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, burns, skin tears, post-surgical incisions and radiation wounds.
The new center, located at Chestnut Plaza, Suite F, has two modern hyperbaric oxygen chambers to help in the healing process. The chambers feature flat screen TV’s, for the patient’s comfort, during treatment.
Busby graduated from Ouachita Baptist University and from the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine, and has completed specialized training for wound care.
The Sleep Study Center, located in a wing of the main hospital in Van Buren began accepting patients with a physician referral. The wing includes large private rooms in a quiet, secure area of the hospital.
“We offer close parking and a responsive, friendly staff to make you feel comfortable during your stay,” the hospital noted in a statement.
