Hogs To Name John L. Smith As Petrino Replacement
After a tumultuous three weeks of drama in the Razorback football program, University of Arkansas officials may begin a return to normalcy.
At 2 p.m. Tuesday (April 24), university officials are expected to name former Razorback assistant coach John L. Smith as the new head coach.
Smith, a former head coach at Louisville and Michigan State, had left the Razorback coaching staff just four months ago to take the head coaching position at Weber State University. Smith coached special teams at Arkansas for the last 3 seasons and was a coaching mentor to fired coach Bobby Petrino.
He is expected to keep the current coaching staff intact. Smith will be paid $850,000 in a one-year deal laced with incentives.
