Beebe Puts 23 On Boards And Commissions

Gov. Mike Beebe today announced the following judicial appointment:

Byron Freeland, Little Rock, as Special Associate Justice to the Arkansas Supreme Court for the case styled 11-1128, Ray Hobbs v. Jack Harold Jones, et. al. Replaces Justice Donald L. Corbin, who has disqualified himself from this case.

Governor Mike Beebe also announced the following appointments to boards and commissions:

Greg Ashcraft, Sheridan, reappointed to the Arkansas Lifeline Individual Verification Effort Corporation. Appointment expires March 1, 2015.

Russell Black, Fayetteville, reappointed to the State Plant Board. Appointment expires September 30, 2013.

Dr. Jason Bright, Hot Springs, to the Arkansas Commission on Eye and Vision Care of School-Age Children. Appointee serves at the will of the governor. Replaces Dr. Beatrice Reed.

Shirley Byers, Little Rock, to the Governor’s Commission on People with Disabilities. Appointment expires June 1, 2014. Replaces Glenda Hubbard.

The Honorable John Catlett, Rover, to the Southern Regional Education Board Legislative Advisory Council. Appointee serves at the will of the governor. New position.

Chief Jackie Davis, Cabot, reappointed to the State Crime Laboratory Board. Appointment expires January 14, 2019.

Roy DePriest, Little Rock, to the Arkansas School for the Blind and the Arkansas School for the Deaf Board of Trustees. Appointment expires January 14, 2016. Replaces Beth Gray.

Robert Fagan, Jr., Little Rock, to the Arkansas Independent Living Council. Appointment expires February 1, 2015. Replaces Lori Hunter.

Beverly Foti, Little Rock, reappointed to the Child Welfare Agency Review Board. Appointment expires March 1, 2016.

Burt Henderson, Morrilton, reappointed to the Arkansas Fair Housing Commission. Appointment expires February 1, 2016.

Georgia Henderson, Trumann, to the Poinsett County Quorum Court, District 5. Appointment expires December 31, 2012. Replaces Johnny Johnson.

Dr. Janet Keiser, Little Rock, to the Breast Cancer Control Advisory Board. Appointment expires January 14, 2016. Replaces Barbara Daugherty.

The Honorable Shelia Lampkin, Monticello, to the Southern Regional Education Board Legislative Advisory Council. Appointee serves at the will of the governor. New position.

Bridgette Larkin-Perkins, North Little Rock, to the Arkansas Veterans’ Commission. Appointment expires October 15. 2014. Replaces Patricia Brooks.

Vincent McKinney, Little Rock, reappointed to the Arkansas Independent Living Council. Appointment expires February 1, 2015.

Dr. Allyson Mertins, Fayetteville, to the Arkansas Commission on Eye and Vision Care of School-Age Children. Appointee serves at the will of the governor. Replaces Dr. Ronald Boyles.

Dr. Jim Ralston, Hot Springs Village, reappointed to the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. Appointment expires March 1, 2017.

Dr. Luis Restrepo, Fayetteville, to the Commission on Closing the Achievement Gap in Arkansas. Appointment expires March 15, 2013. Replaces Kelly Lyon.

Leo Sutterfield, Mountain View, reappointed to the Arkansas Beef Council. Appointment expires March 30, 2015.

Curtis Tate, Marion, to the Arkansas Agriculture Board. Appointment expires August 15, 2015. Replaces John Sims.
