Andrea Parnell Hired To Head HR For Southern Bancorp

Andrea Parnell has been hired as Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources for Southern Bancorp, Inc.  In this role, Parnell will oversee the human resource functions for SBI, Southern Bancorp Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of SBI, and Southern Bancorp Community Partners, a non-profit affiliate of SBI.

Andrea Parnell, a native of Little Rock, comes to Southern with nearly two decades of human resource management experience.  Prior to joining Southern, Parnell was the Director of Employee Relations for Allied Wireless Communications Corporation.  She also previously served as the Director of Human Resources and Talent Management for Alltel Communications, Inc./Verizon Wireless, Inc.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Parnell is a Member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Central Arkansas Human Resources Association. She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
