Judges for the Fort Smith Public Library’s Western Arkansas Regional Art Educators Annual Student Art Competition are casting a wide net for works.

When they say western Arkansas, they mean school-age students in kindergarten through 12th grade who are enrolled in schools in Sebastian, Logan, Scott, Pope, Crawford, Franklin, Garland, Johnson, Montgomery, Polk and Yell counties.

Entries will be on display through March 17 at the library in Fort Smith, 3201 Rogers Ave. Those receiving “Best in Show” awards for their specific grade will be entered automatically in the Arkansas Art Educators State Youth Art Show in Little Rock.

The most whimsical gradeschooler or most imaginative high-schooler is encouraged to submit art. One never knows what judges are looking for. For questions, call (479) 783-0229.
