When Premier Dermatology and Skin Renewal Center opened last July in Bentonville, it was able to offer spa services through its acquisition of East Meets West Spa & Salon.

The spa services, now called East Meets West at Premier, are housed in the dermatology center in Fountain Plaza off Southeast Walton Boulevard.

Dr. Missy Clifton, who owns Premier Dermatology, said the merger went flawlessly and has worked out “really well.”

EMW founder Helena Gadison, who wanted to spend more time working on her production company, stayed on for the first six months to train the new spa director and aestheticians, Clifton said.

Office administrator Shelley Fryer said the move has been a mutually beneficial merger.

The spa employs 13 people, some of whom are contract or part-time workers, Clifton said. About 6,000 SF of the building’s 15,000 SF are dedicated to the spa area.

Lenders Title subleases some space in the building, and other spaces are available, she said.

On Jan. 1, Clifton acquired the Bella Vista clinic of Dr. Kenneth Ubben, who is phasing into retirement and working part time. The clinic is at 5 Cunningham Corner, near Arkansas Highway 71B and Riordan Road.

The two clinics employ about 35 people altogether, Clifton said.

In August, Dr. Kattie (pronounced Katy) Allen of the Mayo Clinic will join Premier. Allen specializes in Mohs surgery, a type of skin cancer surgery.
