Arkansas Native, Cosmopolitan Editor Gifts $30 Million For New Media Project
Legendary Cosmopolitan magazine editor Helen Gurley Brown made a $30 million to the Columbia School of Journalism and the Stanford School of Engineering to boost media innovation.
Brown, who was born in Green Forest, Arkansas and raised in Little Rock, was a successful advertising executive and author who steered the provocative magazine’s editorial direction for more than 30 years.
Ron Breeding with our content partner, KUAR-FM 89 News, has a report on Brown’s contribution and what she hopes to see done with her gift.
“Great content needs useable technology. Sharing a language is where the magic happens. It’s time for two great American institutions on the East and West Coasts to build a bridge,” Brown said.
