-Helen Lively- English smocking isn’t just for sweet little girl dresses. Smocking, embroidery stitches on pleated fabric, can have varied decorative and practical applications. Learn this timehonored technique or refine your skills with this delightful small project, a smocked Easter egg. Students will learn basic smocking stitches and how to read a smocking graph. At the end of two short classes, you will have a completed project to proudly display before Easter. Complete student kits (provided with course enrollment) includes detailed, color instructions, pleated fabric, embroidery floss, needles, ribbon and foam egg shape.
