As I reported yesterday, many in the Democratic Party establishment are still trying to find a high profile candidate to run in the Fourth Congressional District.  Meanwhile over on the Republican side of things, there is quite a bit of money being raised.

This morning, candidate Tom Cotton released another impressive fundraising report with over $540,000 raised in total – $197,000 coming in the fourth quarter.  And perhaps most importantly, he still has $479,000 cash on hand – most of which is available to spend in the primary.

“Our many donors, volunteers, and friends are powering a grassroots campaign across the Fourth District. Working together, we will send a strong, conservative leader to Congress who will stand up to Barack Obama and fight for jobs and economic freedom, Arkansas values, and American leadership,” said Tom Cotton about the campaign’s fourth-quarter performance.

His opponent, Marcus Richmond, has already filed his year end report with the FEC showing he has raised a little over $20,000 with a personal loan to his campaign of $130,000.

A spokesman for the Beth Anne Rankin campaign declined to release their numbers saying they will be released at the end of the month when the report is due.

Cotton and Richmond will square off tomorrow for a Twitter debate hosted by the Arkansas Federation of College Republicans. Rankin declined to participate.
