Tenorissimo!? Fantastico!
On Jan. 28, the Fort Smith Symphony will present Italian tenor Pasquale Esposito and mezzo soprano Katherine White in Tenorissimo! — an experience as close to an Italian opera that Fort Smith will get (at least for now).
Pasquale has become renowned in both operatic and pop music genres. He is a prolific recording artist and a vocalist of great versatility. At the request of the symphony’s knowledgable and involved patrons, the orchestra will provide an evening of opera’s greatest hits — arias and songs all sung in Italian. White will be on stage for duets by Puccini and Rossini.
The concert at the Arkansas Best Corporation Performing Arts Center will start at 7: 30 p.m., but true classical music and opera lovers will want to gather off the lobby at 6:50 p.m. for background on the evening’s featured composers and guest artists. For a look at the entire program, go to the symphony’s website.
