Deana Infield said she chose the accounting field because she believed it was a skill set that could be used in several businesses.

She also enjoys being able to help clients.

Infield earned her degree in accounting from Arkansas Tech at Russellville in 1996.

She started as an intern at Beall Barclay & Co. (Beall & Co. at the time), and is now director of accounting and auditing services.

Becoming a partner at the firm is her biggest achievement, Infield said.

“Starting at the bottom and working up through the levels, I’m definitely proud of that,” she said. “I have some clients that I started working with two days after I started here and I’m still working with them today in a different role.”

Infield said one five-year goal is to be able to help her clients through the process of sorting out tax law changes, regulations and compliance requirements.

“My hope is that I have been able to assist my clients through this process over the next five years,” she said. “I would hope that in five years, there is more clarity and focus on long-term solutions.”

Infield said her other goal is to help continue to grow the firm.

She advises other professionals to find a good balance between work and family.

“Sometimes it’s hard to get that,” she said. “But it’s something important that you really have to strive for.”
