Golden Living exec named to IRS committee
The Internal Revenue Services has appointed Holly Sutton, director of tax at Golden Living, to its Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC).
Sutton is among the five new members of the 22-member IRS Committee. These Committee members represent Americans paying taxes, as well as tax professionals, business and state tax administrators, and payroll providers. Sutton will serve a three-year term.
Founded in 1991, IRPAC provides an organized public forum for the discussion of tax administration issues between IRS officials and the public. Sutton also has been assigned to IRPAC’s Employee Benefits/Payroll Subcommittee, which focuses on the reporting implications of healthcare reform on businesses.
“This is a highly competitive and sought-after assignment, and Holly is well deserving of this appointment,” said Neil Kurtz, M.D., president and CEO of Golden Living.
“Information reporting is becoming an ever-increasing topic of interest in our business because changes in tax reporting have the potential to affect Golden Living and its employees,” added Kurtz.“Holly’s appointment will provide us valuable insight into the tax laws and guidelines, and IRS implementation of the law. It also creates a direct line of communication between Golden Living and the IRS regarding concerns or proposed approaches from a healthcare viewpoint.”
Based at the Golden Living Administrative Center in Fort Smith, Ark., Sutton manages a team that oversees the company’s reporting and payment of property tax, income tax, and sales and use tax. She joined Golden Living in 1994.
