The City Wire seeks demographic info
The City Wire is again pushing an annual survey to gather basic demographic info about it’s growing number of visitors. The data will also be used to help in expansion of The City Wire format to other regions of Arkansas.
The most recent survey, now about 1 year old, gathered input from more than 400 visitors. Results from that survey included:
• 80% of visitors have an annual income of more than $75,000;
• 56% of visitors have an annual income of $100,000 or greater;
• 84% of visitors are between the ages of 36-75;
• 52% of visitors are between the ages of 46-65;
• 79% of visitors are married; and,
• 58% of visitors are male, with (obviously) 42% female.
Info collected daily from tracking software shows that a little more than 71% of visitors in the past 30 days have come from the Fort Smith region, with just short of 16% coming from Benton and Washington counties in Northwest Arkansas.
“It is important to know who visits The City Wire. We want to know who we are reaching with our content, and advertisers want to know who will see their brand,” said Patricia Brown, chief operations officer for The City Wire. “Obtaining visitor demographics and data each year is valuable information to have as we build and expand.”
The City Wire, re-launched in November 2008, is a news website that covers business, politics and culture in the Fort Smith region. The City Wire also includes news on important state and national events, issues and people. More than 617,000 website visits have been logged between Nov. 1, 2008 and Nov. 1, 2011, with more than 4.143 million pageviews.
