Mississippi Contractor Buys Treadway Electric
Jackson, Mississippi-based Irby, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, says it will acquire the assets of Little Rock-based Treadway Electric, effective January 1, 2012. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Established in 1905, Treadway holds the record of Arkansas’ oldest electrical distributor and employs over 100 employees across the state.
Treadway Electric provides electrical supplies for commercial, industrial, and residential accounts, utilities, government, telecommunications, and poultry processing industries. It has fourteen locations throughout Arkansas, in Little Rock, Arkadelphia, Benton, Cabot, Conway, Heber Springs, Hot Springs, Jonesboro, Maumelle, Nashville, North Little Rock, Pine Bluff, Searcy, and Magnolia.
In a press release announcing the deal, Irby says that Treadway’s executive team “has been a crucial part of the company’s success and will continue to play a major role with new responsibilities within Irby.”
Terry Rogers will transition into the role of District Operations Manager and Lewis Casey will become District Sales Manager.

Irby was founded in 1926 and is based in Jackson, Mississippi. The company has 50 locations in 21 states. Sonepar USA is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
