The Lennox facility in Stuttgart, Ark., has received the top honor for Operational Excellence in the American Manufacturing Strategy Awards.  The plant builds a variety of commercial air conditioning and heating products including packaged rooftop units, split system and units heaters for the domestic and international market.

The American Manufacturing Strategy Awards (AMSA) recognize excellence in all aspects of production, including lean manufacturing, innovation, operational excellence and sustainability. Lennox Industries was chosen for its significant waste reduction and high level of customer satisfaction.

According to AMSA judges, “The formulation of the Stuttgart Lean Team has clearly worked in focusing the company on its 16 key areas of improvement, resulting in waste reduction gains. Splitting these areas down to such a detailed level has enabled Lennox to gain more operational excellence, focusing the attention to make improvements achievable. It also makes workers more accountable, thus promoting a company-wide culture of accountability and responsibility that in turn increases productivity.”

“We are honored to receive such a high recognition for our operational achievements,” said Albert King , Lennox Stuttgart Plant Manager. “Our team remains committed to its best-in-class strategy to create constant improvement, targeting all key business needs and customer satisfaction while focusing on waste reduction and environmental sustainability through consistent development initiatives.”

The 750,000 sq. ft. Lennox Stuttgart facility employs more than 1,000 workers during peak summer season. It is also the site of the North American Distribution Center, servicing regional distribution centers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
