In a letter sent Monday to Hawker Beechcraft’s Little Rock employees, the company said it expects “little or no impact” on its Arkansas operations.

Rich Jiwanlal, VP for Human Resources, said, “On Friday, Nov. 4, we informed our company’s entire work force about upcoming necessary reductions in force that will affect all levels of our company.  I want to provide some clarification to you on this announcement. This reduction in force will have little or no impact on our workforce in Little Rock.”

Jiwanial added, “Our Little Rock Completions Center, along with our Hawker Beechcraft Services facility in Little Rock, has experienced a consistently high volume of work this year. In fact, we have supplemented our work force with contract workers. The flexibility inherent in the use of a higher percentage of contractors managed effectively provides better stability for our full-time work force.”

Last Friday, Wichita, Kansas-based Hawker Beechcraft said it would give 60 days notice to members of its workforce on Nov. 11 when it planned a companywide employee reduction due to slowing demand and tough recessionary conditions.
