Beebe and McDaniel Raise Money for Tyler

State Rep. Linda Tyler (D)  is challenging incumbent Sen. Jason Rapert (R) in a battle to be the next Senator from Conway.  Due to redistricting, it is mostly new territory for Rapert with most of the new district belonging to term limited Sen. Gilbert Baker (R).

Anyway, Tyler is having a fundraiser today at the Centennial Country Club in Conway with special guests Gov. Mike Beebe and Attorney General Dustin McDaniel.  Republicans are making hay in a press release that the fundraiser is ironically called “People, not Politics” and continues Tyler’s drumbeat of trying to pretend she is not really a Democrat, while at the same time headlining the two highest ranking statewide Democrats.

“Today Rep. Linda Tyler welcomes Democratic Governor Mike Beebe and Attorney General Dustin McDaniel to a partisan fundraising event for her State Senate campaign that claims to put people ahead of politics,” said Republican Party of Arkansas Communications Director Katherine Vasilos. ” What’s ironic is that while Rep. Tyler proudly claims to have ‘stood up against her own party’ on her campaign website and ‘broke ranks with the leadership of my own party’ in a campaign video, she is welcoming the two highest-ranking Democrats in the state to raise money for her.”

“The question for conservative voters in Faulkner and Perry counties is this: What won’t Linda Tyler say in order to win an election and deceive people into believing she is somehow on the other side of a governor who wants to implement Obamacare in Arkansas and an attorney general who refused to join the health care lawsuit stating it is ‘frivolous?’”

I have said before and will say it again – this race is going to be a fun one!
