Make it two in a row.

Arkansas Best Corp. had its best quarter in three years as the Fort Smith-based trucking firm reported net income of $12.3 million, or $0.46 per share, on rising revenue of $510.9 million.

One year ago, Arkansas Best posted a third quarter net loss of $700,000, or $0.03 per share, on revenue of $445.5 million.

“We are pleased to report another quarter of profitability resulting from the value and superior service that ABF offers in the marketplace," said CEO Judy McReynolds. ABF is Arkansas Best’s large freight subsidiary, which accounts for more than 90% of the company’s activity.

"The ABF team is to be congratulated for producing better results in the face of an uncertain economic environment,” said McReynolds
