Movie Reviews: Warrior & The Guard

Recently, I reviewed two movies for KARK-TV’s morning show: "Warrior" and "The Guard." Both were fantastic films.
"Warrior" stars Joel Edgerton, Tom Hardy and Nick Nolte. Edgerton and Hardy play two estranged brothers who decide to fight in a $5 million MMA prizefight, but for very different reasons. Nolte, in a Oscar-worthy performance, plays a reformed alcoholic who trains one of the brothers.
‘The Guard" stars Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle. Gleeson is an eccentric Irish police officer who, as Cheadle’s character notes, is either very dumb or very smart. Cheadle is an FBI agent sent to Ireland to stop a drug smuggling operation. This comedy’s only shortcoming is that at times the Irish accents are difficult to decipher.
