The University of Arkansas has appointed 17 people to a committee that will seek, review and recommend candidates to succeed Dan Worrell as dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

Worrell said in late 2009 that he would step down as dean in June 2012 and return to his faculty position in the college’s Department of Management. He has served as dean since August 2005.

The committee is expected to make its recommendation to Sharon Gaber, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, during the spring 2012 semester.

Gaber appointed Ashok Saxena, dean of the College of Engineering, as the committee chairman.
