Gooden elected to president-elect of national administrators group
Benny Gooden, superintendent of Fort Smith Public Schools and visiting assistant professor of educational leadership at the University of Arkansas, was chosen as the 2011-12 president-elect of the American Association of School Administrators, the association announced.
Gooden, a member of the organization since 1980, will serve as its president for the 2012-13 term. He is a member of the organization’s Executive Committee and previously served on its Governing Board. He was president of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators in 2007-08.
Gooden has served as superintendent in Fort Smith since 1986 and was formerly superintendent of two Missouri school districts. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Harding University, a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas and a doctoral degree from the University of Missouri.
