Popular bagel and coffee chain Einstein Bros. Bagels is slated to open Aug. 9 in Fayetteville’s Evelyn Hills Shopping Center.

Franchisees Mike and Heather Philip of Springdale partnered with Aaron Nickell in the new location as well as the one in Rogers that opened in 2008.

Nickell will be the general manager of the Fayetteville store, which will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

The former Bank of America building at 1500 N. College Ave. gained more than 1,100 SF in its transformation into the iconic eatery, topping out at 3,100 SF.

The restaurant will employ 35 people initially, dropping back to about 25 full- and part-time employees, Nickell said.

Philip said they’ll continue their practice of donating bagels remaining at the end of the day to area food banks and other charities.

As part of its grand opening, the Fayetteville store will give the first 100 people in line who are 18 or older coupons valid for one free breakfast sandwich a week for one year.
