Starting with the Fall 2012 semester, adult Arkansans who have earned at least 30 college credit hours will have a new option for finishing their bachelor’s degree.

Arkansas Tech University’s accelerated degree program will be offered entirely online, and students who complete it will receive a bachelor of professional studies degree.

The program will cost $180 per credit hour compared to $580 for DeVry University and $550 for the University of Phoenix, a news release stated. ATU also offers credit hours for prior learning, including on-the-job training and experience.

Based in Russellville, ATU had a total enrollment in Fall 2010 of 9,815. Of those students, 217 were from Benton County; 225 from Washington County; 82 from Carroll County; 55 from Madison County; 423 from Sebastian County; and 643 from Crawford County.
