Firestone Complete Auto Care is building a second Rogers location in the Pleasant Crossing development near Interstate 540.

The Rogers Planning Commission has approved a large-scale development plan for the center at 2603 W. Pleasant Crossing Drive, between Golden Corral and McDonald’s, assistant city planner Candy Anderson said.

Jonathan Ely of Crafton Tull engineering firm presented the plan at the commission’s June 21 meeting. The plan calls for an 8,256-SF building on 1.27 acres.

Firestone will continue to operate its other Rogers store at 3925 W. Walnut St., Anderson said. The company also has a Fort Smith location.

Firestone sells tires and performs vehicle repair and maintenance.

Also, city planners have given their blessing to Ashley Furniture Homestore’s move into the former Sportsman’s Warehouse at 4323 Pleasant Crossing. The company is expected to take out a building permit shortly, Anderson said.

Andrew Covington, owner of the Ashley chain, said the company has opened a store in a former Sportsman’s Warehouse before, in Memphis.

Renovations to the 50,000-SF building in Rogers will take about 60 days to complete, he said.
