Not even the Petrino clan is immune to the troubles of the real estate market.

Paul Petrino and his wife, Maya, likely swallowed hard before selling their old home in Fayetteville’s upscale Candlewood subdivision.

The Petrinos, now living in Illinois where Paul is the offensive coordinator for the Fighting Illini, sold their 4,440-SF residence last month for $629,000, to Mark and Jenessa Bailey.

The Petrinos bought the place in June 2008 for $690,000.

Petrino is, of course, the younger brother of University of Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino. He was the Hogs’ offensive coordinator and receivers coach until taking his current job in December 2009.

Petrino is about to begin the second year of a two-year deal that pays him $475,000 annually. That should help cushion the Candlewood blow.
