The Fayetteville building that housed Fuddruckers and then Patron Mexican Grill is getting a third incarnation.

Now called Posta Plata, the restaurant is at 3675 N. Mall Ave., across the street from the Courtyard by Marriott. Whispers hears the Mexican restaurant will open later this summer.

Felipe Gaytan’s application for an alcoholic beverage license was granted June 15, with conditions such as completion of remodeling and Health Department approval.

Built in 2004, the approximately 7,000-SF building operated as Fuddruckers until 2007. Pheasant Run Development Inc. of Branson, Mo., bought the property in January 2009 for $1.3 million from Great Southern Bank.

Patron Mexican Grill opened there in June 2009, but was closed by the following summer. Maybe the third time’s the charm for this space.
