CANCER BENEFIT for SERGEANT ALAN JASPER CASTILLO (AJ)

One of our soldiers, Sergeant Alan Jasper Castillo of Greenwood, AR has developed Stage 4 Cancer known as Metastatic Colon Cancer or Lynch Syndrome. The hospital that treated AJ in 2010 operated and removed the right side of his colon and determined that the cancer was under control and prescribed regular check-ups. AJ’s cancer has evolved into a very rare form called Heterozygous Positive for the Novel, (p.R752X MSH2 Mutation). Metastatic Cancer takes over your body and there is no cure at this time, the best Western Medicines can do is slow down the process. AJ was being processed to be deployed to Afghanistan when the doctors discovered his illness. This 26 year old soldier has served his country for the last 3 ½ years. His life is now hampered and only fate will bring his future. His life was devoted to his job in the Army as well as his young family. AJ is headstrong in his beliefs and as a result has always been the caregiver and the person that would take charge if needed. The road of life has brought this to AJ and with your prayers and support this will help AJ and his family through these trying times. A miracle must happen or AJ’s time is limited to make his mark on earth. Please open up your heart and help us to make his time left a little easier. The VFW Post 8845 has opened their doors and their hearts to help with a benefit for this family. Several activities will take place on Saturday, July 30, 2011. Breakfast starting at 9:00 am, A poker run starting at 10:00 am first bike out at 11:00 am, Meals start at noon, silent auction through-out the day,  door prizes every hour and a live auction starting at 6:00 pm – Bands Through out the day. Something for all.
