Darden Restaurants, the world’s largest full-service restaurant operating company, recently announced that Fort Smith-based OK Foodswas named one of 11 “William B. Darden Distinguished Supplier Award” honorees for 2011.

The award, named for the company’s late founder, recognizes suppliers who "go above and beyond" by providing innovative products and services that contribute to the success of the company. This year, awards were presented at a dinner in Orlando, Fla., on May 5.

Darden honored OK Foods for matching Bahama Breeze’s back-of-the-house wing marinade, resulting in cost savings and more consistent quality for guests.

“OK Foods consistently meets our high standards while delivering exceptional value,” said Chip Brown, senior vice president of marketing for Bahama Breeze. “We are fortunate to work with such an outstanding company.”

Orlando-based Darden Restaurants (NYSE: DRI) owns and operates more than 1,800 restaurants that generate more than $7 billion in annual sales and employ about 180,000 people.
