Susan Krafft recently accepted the position of executive director of Fort Smith Area Community Foundation (FSACF), a local affiliate office of Arkansas Community Foundation (ARCF).

Arkansas Community Foundation makes grants to improve the quality of life in our state and collaborates with individuals, families and organizations to build local communities through philanthropy. ARCF has more than $145 million in assets and has provided more than $80 million in grants since it began operation in 1976. Contributions to ARCF, its funds and any of its 27 local affiliate offices are fully tax deductible.

Krafft will fill the position vacated by outgoing Executive Director Darrel Cunningham, who is retiring this summer after nine years of service to the community foundation.

“Susan’s prior experience in nonprofit communications and development is an ideal fit for this position. We are pleased the she will be stepping into this leadership role at the foundation,” Heather Larkin, ARCF president and CEO, said in a statement. “Darrel Cunningham has been an outstanding executive director and advocate for the community foundation, and due to his leadership the Foundation has experienced tremendous growth. Although we’re sad to see him go, we’re confident that Susan is the right person to take up the torch.”

Krafft previously served as event coordinator for The Celebrity Classic and director of communications and development for the Northwest Arkansas chapter of American Red Cross. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hendrix College and a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Tulsa.

She is a member of the Fort Smith Rotary Club, graduate of Leadership Fort Smith and a wish-granter for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
