Trimble receives HMA leadership award
Sparks Health System CEO Melody Trimble has received Health Management Associates’ prestigious President’s Leadership Award for her commitment to selflessness, servant leadership and focus on quality patient care.
“The President’s Leadership Award is one of our highest honors at Health Management. Melody Trimble embodies the attributes we value in all of our leaders, and we are so proud to be able to publicly recognize and thank Melody with this award,” said Gary Newsome, president and CEO of Naples, Fla-based HMA.
Trimble was named CEO of Sparks Health System at the time of its acquisition by the company in late 2009. Sparks Regional Medical Center has flourished under her direction.
“I am overwhelmed by this incredible honor. There are so many challenges in health care, but I have learned to take each day anew and keep a positive attitude. I am proud of my incredible associates who work hard each and every day to ensure that our patients have a truly great experience at our hospital,” said Trimble.
Prior to arriving in Fort Smith, Trimble served as CEO at Venice Regional Medical Center in Venice, Fla., for nearly five years. She has been with Health Management since June of 1991, serving at multiple hospitals in roles from clinical director of Emergency Services to chief nursing officer to chief operating officer.
She has a masters degree in nursing from the University of Kentucky and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University. In 2010, Trimble was awarded Chief Executive Officer of the Year by Health Management Associates.
The President’s Leadership Award was established last year as a tribute to the late Brad Jones, division president at Health Management.
