Secretary of State Mark Martin announced today plans for District 24 Representative-Elect Bruce Cozart’s swearing in ceremony.

Cozart, who won a special election for the Hot Springs-area seat, will be sworn in Friday morning at 10 a.m., pending certification of Tuesday’s election returns.  The ceremony will occur on the floor of the Arkansas House of Representatives.

Cozart, a Republican, defeated Democrat Jerry Rephan in Tuesday’s special election to fill the seat vacated by the death of Keith Crass who died six days before winning in the November general election.

The unofficial results show Cozart receiving 1,861 votes and Rephan receiving 1,219 votes.  The Garland County Board of Election Commissioners will meet Friday morning to certify the election results.
