Day of Caring seeks volunteers

As part of the United Way Day of Caring, volunteers will join forces April 21 to serve at organizations that improve lives Fort Smith regional communities. Projects are available in Alma, Arkoma, Barling, Booneville, Charleston, Fort Smith, Greenwood, Ozark, Paris, Sallisaw and Van Buren.

A total of 71 projects, requiring an estimated 900 volunteers, are on the Day of Caring list.

WHEN & WHERE:
Kickoff Breakfast and Program – Fort Smith
7:30 a.m.  Kickoff Breakfast for volunteers at Golden Corral, 1801 South Waldron
Road.

Kickoff Breakfast and Program – Booneville
7:30 a.m.  Kickoff breakfast for Logan County volunteers at Jeral L. Hampton

Recognition Lunch and Program – Ozark
Noon – Recognition Lunch at North Franklin County Fair Building in Ozark, AR.

Immediately following the breakfast programs, volunteers will leave for work sites.

Volunteers may sign up for projects at the United Way website or by calling Dee Long or Mitzy Little at (479) 782-1311. Each volunteer will receive a Day of Caring T-shirt.
