Forty Under 40: Darrin Storms, 34
Darrin Storms grew up in Siloam Springs, where a friend’s dad got him interested in dentistry. From there, he developed an interest in orthodontics and after graduating from the University of Arkansas in 1999, Storm went to dental school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and orthodontic school in Jacksonville, Fla.
In 2005, he returned to Northwest Arkansas to work for Imagine Orthodontics, which he purchased in 2006.
“Being able to do things the way I feel they should be done is something I’m most proud of,” Storms said. “I’m able to offer my patients not only treatment but an experience.”
Storms said he enjoys being able to help patients with their self-confidence.
In the next five years, Storms hopes to continue growing his practice while maintaining quality. He’s adding an office in Har-Ber Meadows in Springdale to go along with offices in Fayetteville and Siloam Springs.
Storms also wants to continue working with the Smiles For a Lifetime Foundation, a national nonprofit organization that provides orthodontic scholarships for children who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford braces.
His advice to young people who are starting out in the work force is to find out what their passion is.
“Do what you love, make sure you spend some time and find out what it is you enjoy doing,” he said.
