Former Psc Chair To Stay Away From Arkansas Regulation
We broke the news in December that then-PSC Chairman Paul Suskie would leave for a regulatory and legal post with Southwest Power Pool, the regional electricity transmission outfit based in Little Rock. Some suggested a conflict of interest since SPP has matters pending before the PSC.
Suskie filed a letter Thursday with new PSC Chairman Colette Honorable stating, "I will not undertake legal representation of SPP in matters before the Commission in which SPP was a party during my tenure at the Commission. Nor is it anticipated that I will appear before the Commission in any hearing as the legal representative of SPP."
In the letter, which you can view here, Suskie cited the cases that he was involved in, but would stay away from in his new role. One case involves the highly controversial SWEPCO John W. Turk Power Plant project in southwest Arkansas.
