Turbulent economic times have been good for at least one group.

Credit Counseling of Arkansas served more people in 2010 than in any other year in its history. The nonprofit agency offers free financial literacy education and counseling.

CCOA’s previous best year was 2007, when 26,895 people attended either a class or counseling session. According to community outreach coordinator Bruce Castleberry, the 2010 number was 30,149 as of Dec. 28.
