Nominees sought for Book of Golden Deeds award
The Fort Smith Noon Exchange Club requests nominations of outstanding area citizens as candidates for the 69th Annual Book of Golden Deeds Award recipient. Since 1942, the club has annually recognized a citizen for his or her exemplary service to the community. In 2010, retired veterinarian and long-time community volunteer Dr. Layton Jackson received the award.
Chosen by a secret committee of Exchangites, the winner will be surprised at the annual Golden Deeds banquet to be held Feb. 4, 2011, at Fianna Hills Country Club.
Nominations should include name and address of nominee; a brief history of the nominee’s unselfish deeds and humanitarian service to others; and name, address and phone number of the person making the nomination. With a Dec. 31 deadline, nominations may be mailed to Claude Legris, President, Fort Smith Noon Exchange Club, P.O. Box 180895, Fort Smith, AR 72918.
