Top Construction Projects Receive Night in the Sun
The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce held its 9th annual Construction and Developers Banquet on Oct. 18 at the Fayetteville Town Center. About 250 guests were in attendance. Don Bacigalupi, director of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, was the evening’s featured speaker.
Recipients received certificates and trophies. Nominations were taken from Chamber members and those in similar lines of work. Ultimately, 11 key construction projects throughout Northwest Arkansas were singled out:
The Building Block Award went to the University of Arkansas Garland Avenue Center; the Phoenix Award went to Sam’s Club Corporate Headquarters; the Vision Award went to the Shewmaker Center for Global Business Development; the Historic Preservation Award went to the Washington County Courthouse restoration; the Legacy Award went to Hobbs State Park Visitor Center; the Skyline Award went to the Washington Regional Medical Center addition; the Adaptive Reuse Award went to Dickson Street Inn; the Community Outreach Award went to the University of Arkansas Carver Center for Public Radio; the Downtown Living Award went to 5 West Mountain; the Golden Rule Award went to the University of Arkansas Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority House; and the Sustainability Award went to the Fayetteville School District’s Butterfield Elementary.
