Holiday Open House in Downtown Historic Van Buren attracted people from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Illinois. Also, Santa was present with treats for the children

Many were passengers who had disembarked from the A&M passenger train which originated in Springdale. It was unanimous among the children that the most fun on the train was going through the tunnel.

One father thought it was pretty neat going over the trestle and looking down. Fall colors, deer, cows and horses were spied along the tracks.

According to Barbara Morse of Darb’s Antiques, the open house in downtown Van Buren was held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Additional events in Downtown Historic Van Buren are scheduled for Nov. 27 and 28 for a Holiday Shopping Weekend with specials and sales in participating stores; December 4, with Living Windows from 5:30 -to 7:30 p.m., and the annual Christmas Parade in downtown Van Buren at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 11.
